Treatment Toolbox
  1. First Do No Harm – Naturopathic Medicine utilizes gentle techniques, starting with the least invasive and least toxic treatments necessary for the patient.

  2. Treat the Cause of Disease – The goal of treatment is to determine the root cause of the ailment. In order to maximize the ability of the body to heal itself, the treatment needs to be directed to the source of the issue, rather than masking the symptoms.

  3. Doctor as Teacher – As an ND, I allot some time during each visit to explain to patients what is occurring in their body and the mechanism of action for prescribed treatments. Education empowers patients to take responsibility for their own health.

  4. Support the Healing Power of Nature – The body has an inherent ability to heal itself, however there is usually a roadblock in this pathway. I work to remove the roadblock to allow self-healing.

  5. Treat the Whole Person –This form of medicine takes into account more than just the disease, but treats the patient as an integrated whole. A naturopathic assessment addresses the nutritional status, lifestyle, family history, physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental and social factors in a person’s life.

  6. Prevention of Disease – Naturopathic doctors’ promote overall wellness, health and prevention of disease. Earlier detection and management of illness leads to greater treatment outcomes.
